Here at Altona Early Education centre we are proud of our service and our focus on building a strong foundation for each child to grow and develop at their own pace. We firmly believe that all children must have love, kindness, comfort, support, independence, communication and time in order to reach their full potential hence our centre has an open-door policy which encourages families to be involved in our centre. We recognise that families are the most important influence in a child’s life. We believe that building a strong partnership with families enables us to extend on family values, diversity, needs and interests in our daily programs and inclusive practices. QA5 and QA6
We have created a quality educational program that is constructed with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National quality Framework (NQF) and the Department of Educational and Care National Regulations. We endeavour to cater for all individual areas of development, each child’s needs and interests to promote a happy and positive learning experience. The educators reflect upon the learning environment and endeavour to create an inclusive program, adjusting the program based on the needs of the children QA1
In relation to professionalism, educators are qualified, passionate, understanding, and respectful. The educators participate in ongoing professional development, to broaden their skill set and enhance each child’s experience. We believe in building a positive team relationship and we encourage educators to utilise their individual skills within the centre for example; ability of languages, music abilities and creative ideas etc. All educators have an approved ACECQA approved qualifications and have a clear understanding of the Child Safe Standards. Every educator working at the service will hold a current working with children check, current first aid, valid CPR and anaphylaxis. All educators have completed child protection training QA4
We promote health and nutrition across our centre. We accommodate for all dietary requirements for the children for example allergies, religion and personal references. All meal times are positive, relaxed and a great time for social interactions. All meals offered are of nutritional value in accordance with ‘Nutrition Australia’ and Melanie Boris (paediatric dietitian) We will continue to promote correct hygiene practices to minimise the spread of germs and contamination etc.QA2
