International Fire Fighters’ Day

On 4th May 2023, as part of acknowledging fire fighters on International Firefighters’ Day, the Room 3 & 4 children baked biscuits and drew pictures to say thank you to the Firefighters.  Together we visited Fire Station 46 – Altona Fire Station, at Akuna Street, Altona.

While there, we learnt about the fire fighter’s uniform and how to call 000.  The children, educators and family volunteers all had an opportunity to squirt the fire hose.

Thank you once again to the crew of Fire Station 46 for making our thankyou an exciting excursion.

The children, educators and families of Altona Early Education Centre would like to recognise and honour the sacrifices that firefighters make as part of their dedication to the protection of lives and properties.

We all say:  “Thank You Fire Fighters”

Comments from Firefighter Stary:

“It was a great to see rooms 3 & 4 at Fire Station 46 today. Big effort by all the educators and volunteers to get them there and back safely. The crew had a great time and really enjoyed the cookies! We even saved lots for the night shift crew who are starting work now. Thanks again for helping us celebrate International Firefighters’ Day”

Our Families were really pleased that their child participated in this excursion. Below are some of the comments we received:
