Our centre is owned and operated by Altona locals Grace and Tom Azzopardi, who bring a strong community focus to everything we do. Grace is a registered psychologist, qualified kindergarten teacher and early childhood educator with extensive experience in early childhood development, including volunteer work at the Royal Children’s Hospital during her university years. Tom, a hands-on dad of four with a background in road construction, plays an active role in ensuring the centre operates smoothly and remains welcoming for all families.
Our Kindergarten Western Suburbs program is built on the belief that children learn best when they feel secure, respected, and encouraged to explore. We promote independence, curiosity, and confidence through play-based learning, guided by educators who take the time to understand each child’s unique strengths and interests.
We also maintain a strong open-door philosophy, encouraging families to be active participants in their child’s learning journey. By fostering open communication, embracing cultural diversity, and incorporating family values into our programs, we create an inclusive kindergarten experience that reflects the communities we serve across Melbourne’s western suburbs.
At Altona Early Education Centre, our goal is to provide a nurturing kindergarten experience where every child can grow, thrive, and build the foundations for lifelong learning.

“We love Altona Early Education Centre, and so does our three-year-old son who has been attending for 18 months. The staff are amazing, and we feel so comfortable leaving our child in their care. It’s a warm and nurturing environment for children to feel safe and thrive.”
